Executive Department Leadership

July 24, 2022

Queen City Anime Convention’s (QCAC) former Con Chair and Vice Con Chair have parted ways with QCAC. The separation from the Con Chair was completed via a vote from the Board of Directors on July 18, 2022 for her disruption of the convention’s database content and repeated negative performance based on organizational values. Following the separation from the former Con Chair, the Vice Con Chair was voted Interim Con Chair by the Board of Directors. On July 21, 2022  the former Vice Con Chair/former Interim Con Chair voluntarily resigned from all convention responsibilities effective immediately. Following the staffing resignation by the former Vice Con Chair/former Interim Con Chair, both voluntarily resigned from their positions on the Board of Directors and are no longer affiliated with QCAC.

The former Vice Con Chair/former Interim Con Chair alleges misconduct on part of the Board of Directors, however the Board maintains and firmly believes that all actions taken by the Board was and is to the benefit of QCAC. In lieu of electing a new Con Chair prior to the 2022 event, the President of the Board, Christopher Lee, will be assuming responsibility of Con Chair. Following the 2022 event a vote will be held by the Board to elect an Executive Team and collectively reevaluate the structure of the Executive Department. Current plans for this vote include accepting applications from internal and external candidates.

QCAC intends to continue with our 2022 event as planned and we look forward to hosting many unique creators and industry professionals at our event. We maintain our values of diversity, inclusivity, and community. We also want to take the time to thank both of the former Executive Department members for the contributions to the convention over the years. Despite our paths and visions separating at this time, we do not want to erase the hard work and dedication provided by them. We wish them the best in their future endeavors.
