As a volunteer led non profit organization, Queen City Anime Con Inc is committed not only to producing welcoming and inclusive live fandom events in Charlotte NC but to supporting and serving the communities that we live in.
Queen City Anime Con Inc has committed to donate 10% of the total ticket sales revenue from Queen City Anime Convention 2021 to two charitable organizations that work to create equity and justice in their communities.
We are delighted to announce that our first community service partner for 2021 is Greater Charlotte RISE.
Greater Charlotte Rise (GCR) is a non-profit community development and outreach group looking to create positive change through unifying with community and individuals to build and grow. GCR’s primary focus is to provide our housing insecure neighbors in the Charlotte area with the skills and support necessary to maintain long-term, stable housing. Our team is focused on reaching all housing insecure members of our community including men, women, children, non-binary, trans-folk, and families. GCR is committed to meeting people where they are in either their addiction, sobriety or as returning citizens without judgment.
Queen City Anime Convention 2021 will also host a clothing drive on behalf of Greater Charlotte RISE. Through GCR’s Clothing Drive, volunteers collect, clean, redistribute clothing and shoes to anyone in the community that needs them. Queen City Anime Convention attendees are encouraged to bring gently used clothing donation items to the event.
