Chad Hoku is the founder of Hoku Props, a fabrication studio based in Southern California, and is best known for winning Grand Prize at Twitch Con’s first ever Cosplay Contest in 2016. Chad began his creative journey by studying at Gnomon—School of Visual Effects, Games & Animation in Hollywood, California. There he learned how to 3D model from some of the best in the industry before graduating from the University of California, Riverside, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a focus in arts management. Using this specialization in 3D, he designs armor, props, and customized awards for video game studios and craftsmanship competitions, while utilizing a variety of fabrication techniques to bring those creations to life.
You may have heard him as foul-mouthed, under-caffeinated NPCs Lorelei [Borderlands 3] or Paladin Mike [Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands], or even as various FUNimation simuldub characters [The Case Study Of Vanitas, ASTRA: Lost in Space, Wonder Egg Priority, and more] — but IRL he’s Ciarán Strange, an eccentric transgender/non-binary voice actor, Twitch affiliate, sci-fi author, mental health advocate, indie rocker, and multimedia artist.
Borderline Panels is a panelist group that travels across America to provide exceptional entertainment at anime and fan conventions. Celebrating 50 unique panels and its 9th anniversary this year, we remain committed to showing all our guests a good time!
Borderline Panels began in 2014 as a fever dream of a North Carolina honors student who wanted to get better at public speaking, and who thought his Fullmetal Alchemist fanfiction was so good (it wasn’t) that he could tell other people how to write their own! (He couldn’t!) With some help from friends and countless all-nighters, Borderline Panels is now a standout in the con community! We hope to see you soon!
Kiwi Ninamori is a North Carolina based cosplayer. She began cosplaying in 2008 and expanded her sewing experience by earning a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Textiles. Her award-winning cosplays are known for their attention to detail, unique fabric choices, hand embroidery, and colorful beadwork.
My name is Pink (like the best color ever), and I make cosplay content. Primary on TikTok, but also Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram. I focus on makeup art and wig work, but blend the cosplay together with funny acting and references. I’ve been cosplaying for about 3 years now and I still suck at sewing, but I’m really good at prop making when I have the supplies I need. I love everything pastel and bright and I’m working to expand my content to a wider audience by making more daily content out of cosplay! I can’t wait to see everyone!
